Good for: A compatible outdoor watering setup

Eve Aqua — current generation

An Apple Home watering controller with Bluetooth/Thread connectivity and device-stored schedules.

Before you buy
Thread does not establish Matter certification. Match fitting, pressure and temperature limits; the older generation is not equivalent.

Good for: Retrofitting a compatible roller blind

Eve Motionblinds Upgrade Kit — Matter version

A rechargeable roller-blind retrofit motor with Matter over Thread and a physical pull control.

Before you buy
Choose the correct tube-size kit and supported blind dimensions. Requires compatible Matter-controller and Thread-border-router functions.

Plan your setup

Outdoors is a real requirement

An indoor plug or motion sensor should not be placed outside merely because it fits. Check the exact ingress rating, temperature limits, electrical installation instructions and wireless range at the final location. Power a test device there before committing to a larger setup.

Watering needs exact-generation checks

Current Eve Aqua documentation describes Apple Home and Bluetooth/Thread support, with stored schedules on the device. That does not assign Thread or Matter to the older generation in our archive. Confirm fitting, permitted pressure, frost limits and whether a remote stop command needs a reachable hub. Test the manual shutoff and leak behavior before leaving an unattended schedule.

Shades need physical measurements

Measure the opening and decide on retrofit motors versus a complete shade. Confirm cord and child-safety instructions, power source, charging access, travel limits and manual operation. Check the exact controller integration; a radio label alone does not guarantee position feedback or your preferred scenes. We have not ranked or tested individual shade motors in this audit.

Test power and network loss

Choose a safe default when a schedule, sensor or connection fails. A rain or leak sensor is helpful only if the automation actually receives its state and controls the right valve. Keep a physical way to stop water or move the shade. Revisit schedules seasonally rather than leaving last summer’s settings running indefinitely.
